ASA 104 BareBoat Crusing with option for IPC

This course is designed to give individuals the knowledge and skills needed to competently sail and handle boats 30 – 45 ft.  This is an on-the-water class and you WILL BE staying on the boat.  You will learn the skills of provisioning the boat, galley operations, boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, routine maintenance, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation & chart plotting, anchoring and docking. The course prepares you for chartering a bareboat or cruising your own boat.

ASA recommends a minimum of 80 on-the-water sailing hours before taking the ASA 104 class.

This course also qualifies the sailor for the International Proficiency Certificate (IPC). The IPC serves as proof of bareboat charter competency for Mediterranean chartering companies, many of whom require the proficiency information displayed in a different format than the ASA Log Book. This certificate is mandatory when chartering in most European / Mediterranean waters. Course prerequisites: ASA 101 and 103 (arrangements can be made for experienced sailors to test out of ASA 101 and 103)

*********ASA is proud to offer the International Proficiency Certificate (IPC) for sailors who have been certified through ASA104 (Bareboat Cruising). This certificate is mandatory when chartering in most European / Mediterranean waters.
